Privacy Policy

You can practice on advisortrain.com without an account. If you do, we store:

• A random identifier generated by your browser and kept in its local storage (not linked to your identity). It is sent to us with your practice sessions and answers so your progress persists between visits.
• Your quiz activity — which questions you've answered, your confidence ratings, timing, and any private notes or bookmarks you add.

If you create a free account, we additionally collect:

• Your email address, used to sign you in and sync progress across devices.
• The quiz activity above, tied to your account instead of a device identifier.
• An exam date, if you choose to enter one for a course. It is stored with your account, used only to show your days left and suggest a daily number of questions and the next topic to practice, and you can clear it at any time. It is not shared and not used for marketing.
• Whether you chose study reminder emails for an exam, and when, plus a record of the day each reminder was sent (never its content). See Study reminder emails below.

Where you came from. The first time a browser opens this site, it saves in local storage where that first visit came from: the page you landed on (without anything after the question mark), the name of the website that sent you (the site only, not the page), and the utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign tags in the address, if any. It is saved once and never overwritten. This first-touch record is sent to us with each practice session you start, and we store it with the session: the landing page, the referring site, the three tags, and whether the session came from a Parsonex staff browser. We do not store your IP address or any other part of the page address. We use it to see which sources bring people to practice. If you are signed in, it is stored with that session like the rest of your quiz activity.

Parsonex staff mark their own browsers by opening a page with ?internal=1, which saves an "internal" flag in local storage so staff testing can be left out of our counts. Visitors who do not do this never have the flag.

Your browser's local storage also holds your sign-in session while you are signed in and your light or dark setting, and its session storage holds short-lived sign-in checks.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site. It sets first-party cookies to count visits, and collects standard technical details on its own (such as browser, device type and approximate location). Beyond that, we send it only these events:

• Which pages are viewed. The page address is sent without anything after the question mark, except campaign tags that begin with utm_.
• Which exam you open to set up practice.
• That you started a new practice session, for which exam, and which mode (review, timed or saved questions).
• That you finished a session, for which exam and mode, and your score only as a range (under 50%, 50-69%, 70-84% or 85-100%), never your exact score or any answers.
• That you clicked a “Start practicing” link on a public page, which kind of page it was on, and which exam it was for.
• Which exam the “Which securities license do I need?” guide recommended as a first step. Your answers to its questions are not stored or sent.
• That a link to Parsonex’s careers or home page was shown on screen, and where on the site.
• That you clicked a link to a Parsonex website, where on the site it was, and whether it went to the careers page or the home page.
• That a browser came back on a later day, as a range of days since its first visit (1, 2-6, 7-29 or 30 and more).
• That a signed-in learner saved an exam date, for which exam, and how far away it is as a range (7 days or fewer, 8-30, 31-90, 91-180 or 181 and more), never the date itself.
• That you clicked the practice button on your study plan, and for which exam, never the topic or your progress.
• That you shared or copied an exam link with the Share button after a practice session, for which exam, and which of the two it was. The link is the exam’s public page with a utm_source=share tag, never your score or answers.
• That a sign-in finished, with no account details.

For the "came back" count, local storage also keeps two dates: when the browser first visited and when we last reported a return. Events from staff browsers carry an "internal" label so they can be filtered out.

We do not send your name, email address, account details, quiz answers or the device identifier above to Google Analytics. Google's advertising features are turned off for this site, and we deny advertising storage. You can opt out with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We do not use any advertising tracking technology on this site.

Our hosting keeps a server log of each page request for 30 days: the page requested, the time, the referring site and your browser type. We use it to see which pages are used and to diagnose problems. These logs do not include your IP address or any part of a page address after a question mark.

• To operate the Service — saving and syncing your practice progress.
• To respond to support requests you send us.
• If you create an account, to send account-related email (such as sign-in codes) through our authentication provider.
• If you opt in for an exam, to send the study reminder emails described below.

We do not currently send marketing email, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

If you tick “Email me study reminders for this exam” next to your exam date, we email you study reminders for that exam. The box is unticked unless you tick it, and it is only offered to signed-in learners.

• What is emailed: the number of days left, a suggested number of questions and topic to practice today, and one link that starts a short quiz on that topic. Nothing else: no offers, no marketing and no careers content.
• Where: only the email address on your account. We never ask for another address.
• How often: at most once every 3 days in the last 14 days before your exam and about weekly before that, never more than once a day, and not on days you have already answered questions. They stop after your exam date.
• How to stop: every email has an unsubscribe link that works without signing in, and you can untick the box or clear your exam date at any time.
• The email is sent through Amazon Simple Email Service, our email provider, and the link in it carries only a utm_source=reminder tag. Addresses that bounce or complain are blocked from future sends by that provider.
• These reminders are separate from Parsonex recruiting. We do not use them, or the study activity behind them, to contact anyone about careers at Parsonex.

• With affiliated Parsonex entities, for legitimate business purposes such as operating and securing the Service and counting visits. We do not give them your study activity or account data to contact you about careers (see below).
• With service providers that host the Service, its authentication and its email (cloud hosting, identity and email delivery infrastructure), under confidentiality obligations.
• With Google, as our website analytics provider, limited to the usage data described above.
• As required by law.

We do not use your study activity or account data to contact anyone about careers at Parsonex. Parsonex's recruiting team hears from you only if you submit Parsonex's own form on parsonex.com yourself.

Some pages link to parsonex.com. When you click one, parsonex.com receives only the campaign tags in the link: utm_source=advisortrain, utm_medium=referral, a utm_campaign naming which link you clicked (for example the Series 65 page or the home page), and on career links a utm_content naming which wording of that button you saw, such as sie, sponsored or generic. The tags carry nothing about your answers, scores, account or study activity.

Your account, practice history, and any certificates you've earned are retained for as long as your account is active. Completed course records and certificates are kept as a permanent record once created and are not deleted, even on request, so they remain a reliable record of what you completed — but they can be de-identified from your account on request (see below).

You can request access to, correction of, or de-identification of your personal data by emailing compliance@parsonex.com. If you are a Colorado resident, the Colorado Privacy Act gives you the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of your personal data, and to opt out of certain processing — contact us at the address above to exercise these rights.

The Service is intended for adults preparing for professional licensing exams. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

The Service is operated in the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your data will be processed in the U.S., and by using the Service you consent to that transfer.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest and access controls limiting who can view it.

Parsonex Enterprises, Inc. may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, with the "last revised" date above updated accordingly.
